Letting Go: The Teachings of Meister Eckhart

March 13—15, 2009

Facilitator:   James Finley, Ph.D.

This weekend will be devoted to exploring the teachings of the 14th century Christian mystic, Meister Eckhart. An emphasis will be given to the ways in which Eckhart invites us to open our mind and heart to a profound experience of God’s oneness with us in the intimate details of our everyday lives. Time will be given for group meditation, personal reflection and discussion of the themes presented. Topics include:

  • Introduction: Who Was Meister Eckhart?
  • The path of detachment: Dying to the illusions that imprison us.
  • The Birth of the word in the soul: God-the reality of ourselves, others and all things
  • Breakthrough into the Godhead: Passing into divine mystery
