SPIRITUALITY

SIERRA CHAPEL

With a beautiful view of our manicured grounds, our Sierra Chapel offers private, contemplative space for personal prayer, reflection and worship.

The Chapel can accommodate up to 45 people for services or gatherings. Silence is golden in this space, but there is a piano available. The Chapel can also be used as a meeting space.

The Labyrinth

The Labyrinth is a spiritual tool. It is used as a walking meditation to assist us in finding peace, managing stress, decision-making, and healing physically, emotionally and spiritually. It represents a journey into our own center and back again into the world. Walking the labyrinth allows us to focus our thoughts and gain clarity and insight into ourselves.

Mercy Center's Labyrinth is open to the public daily, and all are welcome to join us to experience your own contemplative journey.

We welcome donations to help us landscape and maintain this sacred space. If you would like to contribute, you may make a donation in Mercy Center’s administrative office. Your gift is tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

*Retreat guests of the Center take precedence when scheduling use of the Labyrinth. Please phone us at 530-887-2019 to inquire about the availability of the Labyrinth, as well as to inform us of your presence on the grounds of Mercy Center prior to walking the Labyrinth.

Stations of the Cross

Walking a prayer walk is no ordinary stroll - it’s a journey back in time to the Passion of Christ. The beautiful Stations on the campus of Mercy Center Auburn invite you to reflect on the events leading up to Jesus' death.

Take some time to journey through the Stations of the Cross during your visit to our beautiful grounds.

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction is a time to reflect on your prayer life and to nurture your relationship with God. Spiritual Direction helps the person who is seeking a deeper relationship with God to notice the presence of God in the various events, relationships and structures of one's life.

The Spiritual Director, as a companion, listens and is attentive to the spiritual life and journey of the directee, seeking always to enhance and deepen the relationship between God and the directee. The relationship of spiritual direction is sacred, safe and strictly confidential.

If you are seeking a Spiritual Director, or if you are a Spiritual Director looking for a supervisor, please email us at spiritualdirection@mercycenter.org or contact us at 530-887-2019.
