SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
While we have cancelled in-person individual spiritual direction appointments during this time period, we do have spiritual directors available to talk with persons who feel the need to be spiritually and emotionally held and heard in sacred space during this time of uncertainty. Like many others, you, or someone you know, may have the need to express the array and depth of feelings and questions that arise throughout the day or the hours while sheltering, or by needing to work on the front lines. Many find it difficult to focus in prayer. Our directors are experts in their field and can be available by telephone or other face-to-face technology options. Please email and we will connect you with one of our very fine spiritual directors. Please contact Colleen Gregg at [email protected]
SPECIAL OFFER OF SUPPORT
On a separate note, as concern about the COVID19 outbreak grows, we're doing our best to keep everyone healthy and safe in our workplace and in our larger Mercy community. To that end, please see the note and offer below from Jessica Del Pozo, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist with Lemke Health:
Dear Ones:
This time of great uncertainty is her now with a ripple effect that is likely to continue outward for some time impacting our daily lives. It is our mission at Lemke Health to guide and support the well-being and resiliency of health care providers, pastors, teachers, and other front line workers who provide others with daily nourishment. This mission is being extended to anyone requesting emotional support remotely.
I am Jessica Del Pozo, a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of California, and I am offering one free online video or phone consultation per person for COVID19 virus anxiety and life disruption. We all still have much work to do as we change into a new rhythm, manage our fears and stay in close connection with our faith, while taking wise and compassionate action.
To do this, we need to stay connected, but in a new way utilizing technology to share our concerns and coping strategies. This is in order to not only stay emotionally, physically, and spiritually well, but to lean into our faith in a manner that allows us to grow stronger together.
At this time, these are 45 minute individual confidential consultation sessions at no cost. It is not expected that you make a donation, but if you choose to, it will be donated to Mercy Center Auburn. Each session is:
- To address COVID19 related impact on emotions and well-being.
- To connect, support, manage fear, and build resilience in our larger community.
- Not to diagnose or treat a mental illness.
- Approximately 45 minutes
- Free
- Confidential within legal and ethical guidelines.
- Provided virtually, face to face, via computer or telephone if computer is not available.
- Resources and follow-up options provided as requested.
