Our labyrinth was modeled after the Chartres Cathedral’s labyrinth and designed by Mercy’s own Joe Venancio [now retired]. Assisted by Mercy staff, the bricks were laid and the Sisters, campus staff, and wider Mercy Center community were invited to place prayers of intention on the bottom of the bricks that were set in place. Sr. Anne Sekul designed the Celtic Trinity in the center.
The exquisite tile mosaic of that center was also assembled and secured by Joe Venancio. The Labyrinth is a spiritual tool, used as a walking meditation to assist us in finding peace, manage stress, decision-making, and healing. It represents a journey into our own center and back again into the world. Walking the labyrinth allows us to focus our thoughts and gain clarity and insight into ourselves.
Mercy Center’s Labyrinth is open to the public daily, and all are welcome to join us to experience your own contemplative journey. Our retreat guests take precedence when scheduling use of the Labyrinth. Please phone us at 530-887-2019 to inquire about the availability of the Labyrinth, as well as to inform us of your presence on the grounds of Mercy Center.
-

-
Walking a prayer walk is no ordinary stroll – it’s a journey back in time to the Passion of Christ. The beautiful Stations on the campus of Mercy Center Auburn invite you to reflect on the events leading up to Jesus’ death.
Take some time to journey through the Stations of the Cross during your visit to our beautiful grounds.
