If writing is important to you, you are invited to Mercy Online Writing sessions once a month on Zoom from September 8, 2026 to May 11, 2027. The classes focus on writing about your life.

You will:

  • receive prompts to stimulate your writing

  • be invited to enjoy poetry, prayers and reflections on the month’s theme

  • share in a supportive writing community

  • explore writing skills offered through the classes

  • discover more about your life by writing about it

You will have the opportunity to share two pages of your writing with a small group during each of the monthly meetings. Keep in mind that some members will be new to the group and others participated last year. All are welcome wherever you are in your writing journey.

Materials will be emailed to class members two weeks before each class.

About the Facilitators

Liz Dossa is a Certified Guided Autobiography Instructor. She has led classes at the Foster City Library, with the Sisters of Mercy and at Mercy Center. She was Communications Manager with the Sisters of Mercy in Burlingame for 28 years. She has written two books, Notable Excitement and, with Sister Suzanne Toolan, I Am The Bread of Life and has enjoyed freelance writing. Leading groups of people writing about their lives continues to be a rich and rewarding experience for her.

Sister Linda Bradford, RSM is a Sister of Mercy who has 45 years of experience in education as a teacher or principal of grades kindergarten through high school in Louisiana, Texas, California, and Nicaragua.

As an artist, she has taught music, art and drama. Her love of the arts since childhood has always sparked her creativity to learn new mediums and techniques. Her study of art therapy has enhanced her teaching methods to include enlightening as well as enjoyable artistic endeavors.  She has always enjoyed writing and has been a member of Writing Your Life since 2019. At present she is working on publishing her memoirs in the near future.
